This work belongs to an evolving series of paintings she started early in 2022 inspired by Stephane Mallarme’s poem ‘A Throw of the Dice’ from which this one takes its title.  The artist describes the process of creating this work.  With her finger on screen of her iphone, she draws large strokes, then erases them.  She repeats this action and saves the steps, she then repeats this action. She again saves the steps.  She talks of completing the process spontaneously, sometimes returning to the drawing later and continuing to draw and erase. Rhythmically arranged strokes and fragments of erased elements make up the composition. The saved digital drawings form a series, which document the drawing process.
